The whole record, told in order

The Rise of the Hopfather

One straight line through the whole swamp: sewer-grate to kingpin, told the only honest way — start to finish, by the frog who lived it.

You've been landing in the middle of my story. A charge here, a heist there, a cell log you found by accident. That's fine — a swamp's supposed to be a maze. But every so often a frog earns the right to read the whole thing front to back, and if you've come this far you've earned it.

So here's the spine of it, in the order it happened. Follow the line down. Every stop is a door into the full chapter, and every door winds back to me. That's how you know whose swamp it is.

  1. Before I had legs — Sewer-grate 12

    Born Under the Grate

A nobody tadpole hatches under a rusted iron grate the maps number twelve, decides the swamp is mispriced, and swims back up the pipe to carve his mark on it. He comes out with a scar and a plan. Nobody bet on him. Everybody paid him eventually.

The origin — the whole scar story
  2. Forty-one minutes in — the fork

    The Split at the Pipe

The current forked at the mouth of the pipe — dark water and clean — and the other one swam for the daylight. He looked back once. I did not. The whole lifelong rivalry with the soft one across the water started right there, and everything after was just the two of us proving our point.

The feud — every incident on record
  3. The first real money

    The Storm-drain Score

A blackjack table that fell off a riverboat, a room under Fourth and Cattail with no clocks and no exits you'd want to use. Big Tongue's ran twenty-four hours until the raid, and by then the raid didn't matter — the room had already taught me the only law I respect: the house takes a cut of every croak.

The jobs — every score, worked step by step
  4. One toad at a time

    The Crew Assembles

A trench-coat toad who tried to pick my pocket and left with a job. A young cop who decided the dental was better on my side of the water. I never recruited the crew — I just kept being the most interesting thing that ever happened to a bored toad or a crooked badge, and the swamp handed them over.

The crew — aliases, roles, confessions
  5. Seventeen shell pondcompanies later

    The Empire Spreads

One room became a racket became a registry of ponds and shells nobody could untangle. The take stopped looking like crime and started looking like paperwork — which is the whole trick. By the time the swamp added it up, half of Croaktown owed the current, and the current was me.

The holdings — the whole empire, mapped
  6. Case PP-04-20-6969

    The Swamp v. PooPee

They finally dragged the whole record into Croaktown Superior Swamp Court: every charge argued on the record, Officer Croaksworth under oath, my confessions-that-aren't, and a bench that ran out of patience. Verdict came back GUILTY AF. I've never been prouder of a piece of paper.

  7. Cellblock D, and counting

    Inside, Running the Yard

They locked me up and I reorganized the exercise rotation into something more efficient. Commissary runs on my ledger now. Officer Croaksworth writes it all down on the night shift, one dated incident at a time, and the log stays open — because the defendant is not going anywhere and never runs out of material.

  8. End of the dotted line

    The Islands Wait

There's a hand-drawn map on the cell wall with a compass rose and a dotted line. Corrections filed it under flight risk. They're right to. At the end of that line is the place the take goes to retire — the offshore haven where the swamp launders into clean water. The story isn't over. It's just offshore.

The islands — where the dotted line leads

That's the rise, start to finish and told in order — though a frog who tells you the whole story is a frog holding something back. This is a work of parody. Every stop on the line is fiction; the swamp keeps the rest.

The line isn't finished

The Story's Still Being Written

You've read the rise, sewer-grate to cellblock to the dotted line offshore. But the timeline only ends where the record does, and the record keeps growing. Follow PooPee on X for the next stop before the swamp files it — new chapters, fresh charges, and whatever happens after the islands.
