The chain of command — Croaktown P.D. organized-crime unit

The Family

The roster tells you who's on the payroll. This tells you who answers to whom. Read it top to bottom: every ribbit runs downhill, every fly runs uphill, and every arrow points back at the frog at the top. That's not an accusation. That's an org chart.

The Consigliere

One seat, right hand of the boss. He was sent to dismantle the ring and stayed to advise it.

The Fixers

The frogs who find what a shell pondcompany needs found, and move the merch the property room won't keep.

The Bent Law

The badges and keys on the wrong side of the ledger. One holds the cell door, one holds the property room.

The Press

One cricket, one typewriter, and a swamp that reads whatever he prints. Every arrest is a headline; every headline is free advertising.

The Couriers

The frogs who move the bag and the frogs who spring it. One carries air past nine searches; one keeps a window open till 3am.

Across the Water

Not on my chart. The soft twin runs a family across the water — the clean one, the forgiven one, the one nobody buys papers to read about. His fixer works the far bank, cleans up so well there's no mess left to enjoy. My standing offer to that one is filed under 'rival,' which in Croaktown is a slower word for 'recruit.'

Chart compiled from defendant testimonials, the case file, and one (1) very nervous accountant who insists he only keeps the boxes, not the arrows. Every name, tier, and title is a work of parody; any resemblance to a real crime family is the swamp's problem, not mine.

The chart keeps growing

New Names Get Added All the Time

You've seen who answers to whom — for now. But a family this busy keeps promoting, recruiting, and quietly retiring frogs 'to the islands.' Follow PooPee on X for the next name on the chart before the swamp P.D. draws its own.

No dues. No initiation. You just start reading the memos — and once you're on the chart, the only way off it is fishing in the islands.
